In the age of constant scrutiny and assumptions, Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali have finally addressed the questions surrounding their family and parenting choices with honesty and emotional clarity.
The couple shared that while many people have been questioning, assuming, and writing narratives about their lives, much of it has been unfair. They clarified that they are not just parents, but foster parents, and that fostering children is a beautiful blessing—one that does not replace or diminish emotions for their biological child, Tara.
When Khushi came into their lives, Mahhi and Jay explained that they became parents, but they also understood that certain decisions and rights naturally belong to the children’s biological parents. The children were always meant to spend time in Mumbai and eventually return to their hometown to live with their extended family and grandparents. According to the couple, no one else has the right to judge what is best for a child except their parents.
Addressing concerns about why the children are not always seen with them, Mahhi and Jay expressed that such questions are painful and could hurt the children as they grow up. They emphasized that all their children are deeply loved and equally precious, regardless of where they live. Regular video calls and frequent messages keep them emotionally connected, and this arrangement is a personal decision that does not require outside interference.
They reassured everyone that the children will continue to visit and that they will always have two homes—one in their hometown and one with Mahhi and Jay. Festivals like Diwali and birthdays are celebrated together, reinforcing the bond that ties them as a family.
